| Experimenting
with new ideas to provide a cost effective option and based on the in depth experience of
manufacture and use of flexible card clothing, ICC and its sister concern Garnett Wire LTD
( GWL ) now recommends use of metallic wire in interlocking profile for processing shoddy
and carpets. For both Breaker
part and intermediate part interlocking metallic wires are recommended and supplied from
GWL UK. More and more carding engineers who are using to working flexible fillets are now
willing to discover the benefits of metallic wires.
GWL has now introduced CARDRITE a
completely new type of metallic card wire. It employs variable pitch on a single morel
wire incorporating a flat top already sucessfully used in the worsted industry. the result
- a metallic wire that acts comparable to flexible but retains all the benefits of
metallic wire. CARDRITE is equally effective throughout the card, i.e. Cylinder, worker,
stripper, doffer, etc.
CARDRITE has deep carding effect.
Its use reduces cross-carding variation and improves in fiber loading, fettling - clearing
of fiber from the wire which is essential with flexible clothing is reduced. The special
geometry of Cardrite wires enables fibre to run straight through the card in a more linear
direction, without lateral displacement. Using Cardlite wire will result in reduction of
fibre breakage, improvement in fibre control and result in better carding quality at
higher production rate.
Cardrite also works extremely well
with flexible clothed cards, meaning any change over can occur gradually reducing the
capital outlay risk involved in changing a complete wollen card to metallic.
